	16 May 2008 BEM: EIC elects new President At the EIC General Assemlby on 16 May 2008 in Milan, Italy, Michel Démarre, Deputy International Manager of Colas (Bouygues Group, was elected new President of EIC. He succeeds Gian Alfonso Borromeo from Italy who held this honorary position since April 2005.

	02 May 2007 BEM: EIC President stresses the role of European contractors in the developing world Gian Alfonso Borromeo, who was recently re-elected as EIC President at the General Assembly on 20 April 2007 in London, summarises in an interview with the Bulletin Européen du Moniteur the results of his first two years as President. He marks the evolution of EIC from a contact point for providing technical analysis on international construction matters to a political organisation which steadily underlines the relevance of European construction experience and excelence on the global level and in particular in the developing world. In that capacity, EIC plays an increasingly important role in networking with the International Financing Institutions, e.g. the European Commission and the EBRD, and with International Organisations, e.g the OECD.
	12 June 2006 BME: EIC and FIDIC call jointly for a better procurement framework The Presidents of both federations are calling upon the international donor agencies, such as the World Bank, EuropeAid and the EBRD, to adapt their procurement guidelines and practice in a way that allows bidders to also compete on quality and not only on price.
