Statistics and figures reflecting the international construction industry are difficult to obtain due to the complex nature of the business. Those available in the public domain stem to a large extent directly from the construction companies and not from independent agencies. In the light of the complex nature of construction works, there are also problems of delimitation between pure contractors, engineering companies and service providers. Hence, analysis of public figures needs careful interpretation of the figures.
On the other hand, it is not the exactness of the figures but the trend that is valuable for the observers. EIC has collected and evaluated different sources, including its own members and publishes them only after careful scrutiny and processing.
